From the sellers...
We moved into our house over five years ago, not sure how long we would stay. We were moving from California with our three- and one-year old boys, and our families in the Midwest and East Coast had been hoping for a move closer to home, not further away. But it didn’t take us long for this house (and West Seattle) to become our home, and we stayed longer than we have stayed anywhere in 20 years. We loved the mix of character in this home, such as the original wood floors and beautiful windows, combined with the modern conveniences of the updated kitchen and bathrooms, as well as the finished basement.
Our boys began to grow up here, and we welcomed our third son about a year after we moved in. Mornings spent at Alki Beach and afternoons at Hiawatha Park turned into long hikes in the nearby mountains and baseball games with friends as the boys grew older. This home was perfect for us- we have loved the location next to the park, as well as having abundant greenery in our backyard- it is so peaceful. The basement was the perfect playroom, and our kitchen saw many dinner parties with friends.
It was hard for us to leave our home, but a job change and a desire to be closer to family pulled us East. We will miss being able to walk to wonderful grocery stores such as Met Market and fun nights out at nearby restaurants and the Admiral Theater. We will miss our wonderful neighbors, who welcomed us when we arrived and left with homemade cookies in the shape of the state of Washington and fresh-caught and smoked salmon.
